A whopping 30% of greenhouse emissions come from food production, with Asian countries like India, China and Indonesia representing 50% of emissions from croplands. This is in the form of Methane emissions from Rice Paddies. A serious issue is food waste. Over 1/3 of global food produced goes to waste, releasing methane whilst it decomposes and contributing the carbon it took to produce and transport it.
