The darkest hour: Trump’s politics has done great damage to the cause of democracy around the world

Just as most relations, the U.S.-India relationship has weathered some bumps along the road however as of today, seems to be on steady ground. The two countries have collaborated on finding a vaccine for Covid-19 and both the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Donald Trump have always appeared to be more than amicable, putting on displays of friendship for media events. Despite this, Modi has formally congratulated Biden on his presidency and says he is looking forward to developing the two nations’ ties and has even mentioned Kamala Harris’ Indian roots as a great pride for many Indian Americans.
Modi’s quick call condemning the far-right violence at The Capitol may be a reflection of a day in which any remaining ties between Trump and global leaders were formally cut.
