Dr Lloyd Anderson joins International Advisory Council
Dr Lloyd AndersonAsia Scotland Institute is delighted to welcome on board Dr Lloyd Anderson, the latest distinguished member of our International Advisory Council.
Dr Anderson is the Director of British Council Scotland. In the video below he sets out his priorities in that role, which include encouraging more young Scots to develop a “pioneering spirit” and aligning closely with Scotland’s international ambitions.
Before taking up his current position, he had assignments as Director Georgia, Deputy Director Russia and Director Science for the British Council globally.
Dr Anderson said, “I am delighted to have been invited to serve on Asia Scotland Institute’s International Advisory Council, and look forward to providing sound advice based on a wide knowledge of international relations, and to being an advocate for the Institute.
“British Council Scotland’s mission is to bring the best of international education and the arts to Scotland and promote Scottish learning and culture abroad, using its global network to connect academics, students, policymakers and artists.
“We are therefore able to pull together overseas knowledge, experience and perspectives, help catalyse relationships, and comment on issues affecting Scotland’s profile and standing.”

Dr Anderson joins other notable figures on the International Advisory Council, including Lord Desai, Haruko Fukuda OBE, Vikram Singh Mehta, Chairman of Brookings India, New Delhi, and Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport.
