Asia Scotland Institute is delighted to welcome on board Brigadier David Allfrey MBE, the latest distinguished member of our International Advisory Council.
Brig Allfrey is chief executive and producer of the renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, an iconic symbol of Scotland recognised around the world.
Performers from more than 46 countries have taken part in the Tattoo. There are hopes for a strong Asian representation at next year’s event.
Brig Allfrey said, “The Asia Scotland Institute is going from strength to strength and is drawing support and energy from an ever-widening group of stakeholders.
“I have hugely enjoyed my involvement this far and am committed to promoting the cause at every opportunity.”
Roddy Gow, chairman and founder of Asia Scotland Institute, said, “Under David Allfrey’s leadership the Royal Military Tattoo has grown in importance as an iconic global Scottish brand.
“Additionally it performs a vital function in drawing Scotland and Asia closer together as performers from throughout the Asian region are featured in Edinburgh.”
Brig Allfrey joins other notable figures on the International Advisory Council, including Lord Desai, Dr Eamonn Butler of the Adam Smith Institute, and Rory Stewart MP.
