Alan Rosling CBE – Former Chairman of the Jardine Matheson Group in India and Executive Director of the Tata Group.
An event in our Global Leaders Series, brings Alan Rosling CBE to Scotland to speak on the forces driving India as a potential Superpower in Asia with an economy set to rival that of China. The largest democracy in the world, Alan Rosling asks “India as a global powerhouse – is Modi the Reformer that India needs?”
No one is better placed to lead us through this subject. A graduate of Cambridge University, Rosling spent his early years in the City with SG Warburg and subsequently worked as Strategy Director with United Distillers and as CEO of Courtaulds Textiles. He also worked in the Policy Unit at 10 Downing Street. From 1998 to 2001, Alan Rosling was Chairman of the Jardine Matheson Group in India from where he was recruited to the Tata Group as Executive Director responsible for their remarkable internationalisation, becoming the senior non-Indian in the global business.
Leaving Tata after five years his activities have since been many and varied. He is the Founder of Griffin Growth Partners, the consulting firm focussed on assisting international companies interested in Asia and India in particular. A Senior Advisor to Avalon Consulting, India’s leading Management Consultancy, he is also co-founder of Kiran Energy, the premier independent solar power producer in India.
