As former economic advisor to the Mayor of London and to the Board of Standard Chartered, Gerard Lyons is an expert on the world economy, global financial markets and on economic and regulatory policy, with immense expertise on international banking and investment. Lyons is a widely cited economic forecaster. During his time at DKB in the 1990s he became known as an accurate forecaster of the Japanese economy, and at Standard Chartered was viewed as one of the global experts on emerging economies. He is now a non-executive director at the Bank of China.
Gerard will speak at the Asia Scotland Institute in November, delivering a talk in Edinburgh and Glasgow, providing greater insight to people in Scotland of the opportunities and threats of Chinese investment. Economic ties between the U.K. and China will demand more attention after Brexit and could be more significant than ever before.
