We’re delighted to welcome Takako Masai to Edinburgh on the 28th of February.
Takako Masai has been a member of the policy board of the Bank of Japan since June 2016.
Takako Masai served as an Executive Officer at Shinsei Bank, Ltd. from April 2013 to June 2016. She was the first woman to be appointed to be a member of the bank’s executives.
She established the Financial Research Division at Shinsei Bank, Ltd. in 2016 and became the General Manager. She served as General Manager of Markets Research Division in 2015, Head of Markets Research Department, Markets Sub-Group in 2013 at Shinsei Bank, Ltd. She joined Shinsei Bank, Ltd. as a General Manager inCapital Markets Division in May 2007. She has also taken a role to promote women participation at Shinsei Bank, Ltd.
Prior to joining Shinsei Bank, Ltd., she worked for several foreign financial institutions in Tokyo including Credit Agricole CIB and The Toronto-Dominion Bank. During her career in the financial industry, she was deeply involved in the financial market, in particular, the foreign exchange market. It was common for her to appear in the media in this area.
She holds a B.A. in English Literature from Jissen Women’s University and an MBA from Hosei University.
